Pipe Band to attend Interceltique Festival in France

The pipe band will be taking part in this years Interceltique festival in L'Orient - 1st August until 13th August. As it is a brand new band, none of the current players have had this opportunity before and it will be a great experience for all involved.

Band Practices

Band practices will resume on Monday 9th January. We are still recruiting experienced players for the grade 4 band and also learners who are under 18 for the new Novice Juvenile pipe band.

Inverkeithing Pipe Band to compete for first time in three years!

The Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing Pipe Band will this weekend (Sunday 24th July) compete in its first pipe band competition in over three years.

The band will join Fife Constabulary, Dunfermline District & Scottish Transport Regiment, Glenrothes & District and Methil & District to play in the one-day competition which takes place on the 24^th July at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh.

The 20-strong Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing band, led by Pipe Major Wilma Graham will compete in the Grade Four category alongside Methil & District and Dunfermline District & Scottish Transport Regiment. The Fife Constabulary band will compete in Grade One while Glenrothes & District will contest Grade Three.

Pipe Major Wilma Graham said:

“Our entry in the Edinburgh Pipe Band Championship is a significant milestone for the band, as it’s our first competition in a number of years and it’s great to be part of Edinburgh’s first ever pipe band championship.

“Our band, which includes 13 pipers, four tenor drummers, three side drummers and a bass drummer, has been practicing hard in recent months to get ready for this event. And, with our outfits from Clan Kilts we will certainly look the part - I hope we sound the part too! We will compete in the Grade Four category and hope this landmark event is successful for all involved.”

The Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing band has also just formed a Novice Juvenile pipe band which they hope to have competing at the Edinburgh Pipe Band Championship next year.

The Edinburgh Pipe Band Championship is being organised by the Royal Highland Centre in association with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association’s Lothian & Borders Branch.
